Telehealth Services

Afina Health provides certain medical services through telehealth. Telehealth may involve electronic communications, video visits, review of medical information, prescribing when appropriate, and coordination of testing or other care.

You must be physically located in a state where your Afina Health physician is authorized to provide medical care at the time of your appointment.

Telehealth has limitations and is not appropriate for every medical concern. Afina Health may recommend in-person evaluation, laboratory testing, imaging, emergency care, or evaluation by another healthcare professional when appropriate.

Emergencies

Afina Health is not an emergency medical service. Do not use the website, patient portal, email, or other Afina Health communications for a medical emergency. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek care at the nearest emergency department.

Prescriptions

Scheduling or completing an appointment does not guarantee that any particular medication will be prescribed. Prescribing decisions are made by the treating physician based on medical history, clinical circumstances, applicable laws, professional standards, and the physician's independent medical judgment.

Afina Health does not provide hormone pellets. Testosterone therapy for women is considered only when clinically appropriate and supported by current evidence and professional guidance.

Laboratory Testing

Laboratory testing is not required for most women seeking evaluation for perimenopause or menopause. When laboratory testing is medically indicated, patients may be offered self-pay testing through available laboratory services. Discounted pricing may be available for certain tests. Patients may alternatively choose to obtain testing through a local clinic or health system and have those services submitted to their insurance. Afina Health does not control or guarantee laboratory pricing, insurance coverage, or patient out-of-pocket costs.

Insurance and Payment

Afina Health is a self-pay practice and does not bill health insurance for consultations. Patients are responsible for consultation fees and any separately charged services. Other services—including prescriptions, laboratory testing, imaging, or care obtained from outside healthcare providers—may be eligible for insurance coverage depending on the patient's individual plan. Afina Health does not guarantee insurance reimbursement or coverage.

Upon request, documentation may be provided that patients may choose to submit to their insurance company. Providing documentation does not guarantee reimbursement. Patients may be able to use HSA or FSA funds for eligible services. Eligibility is determined by applicable tax rules and the patient's individual plan.

Cancellations and Refunds

Appointment cancellation, rescheduling, late-arrival, no-show, and refund policies will be communicated during scheduling or checkout. Patients are responsible for reviewing applicable policies before completing a purchase or booking.
